Today: IaaS (sometimes pronounced “ice”)

Infrastructure as a Service

Think of IaaS as the cloud version of anything that would traditionally have been physical hardware: processing power, storage, and networks. Other cloud services build upon this (we’ll talk about PaaS and SaaS later), but IaaS is at the core of these services. If it acts like a physical computer, storage drive, or network connectivity but lives in the cloud, it’s probably IaaS.
