DevOps: Developer Operations
This is alpha nerd soup – where I have 30 seconds to explain a seemingly random jumble of letters!
Today: DevOps
Developer Operations
This is an ever-expanding category of concepts, but it generally includes any processes helping to deliver, update, or monitor applications. It’s frequently associated with agile software development and cloud computing and involves practices like: CI/CD (which I might cover next time), application logging, automated testing, and IaaS (which I should also cover soon). The greatest benefit is the speed and understanding a DevOps-oriented team gains because they’re able to deploy and debug infrastructure instead of having to involve and wait for a siloed infrastructure management team.
